This time of year it’s so easy to get caught up in the material aspects of gift giving. For me, it’s a constant conscious effort to bring traditions, books, movies, and stories into my home that focus on the true meaning of Christmas. I’m sure we could all use some new ideas.

Now more than ever keeping the Christ in Christmas is essential.
My sister-in-law has a ‘Happy Birthday Jesus Party’ every year for our kids and their friends(6 yrs and under). She sends out Birthday invitations and gives little treat bags. We focus the party around Jesus and His Birth, telling the story of His Birth and having games and songs focused on Jesus and the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Of course there is cake and ice cream to top off the celebration!!! All the kids get to help Jesus blow out all His candles at the end!!! The kids just LOVE it; who doesn’t like a Birthday Party:)????

My family only receive 3 gifts each. Why? Well because Christ was brought 3 gifts. And my friends is going to start that too but they are going to buy their kids one gift they NEED, one they WANT, and one that is Christ centered.
And every year my kids get to decorate a cake for Jesus. They LOVE that.
