July 4th Activities

by Laurie on June 25, 2009

The 4th of July is quickly approaching and I know you’re looking for some fabulous ideas to make this day extra special for your family.  Here are several women who have gone above and beyond to make their holiday ooze with patriotism with these July 4th Activities.

July 4th Activities

Can I tell you what a fan I am of the Over the Tipsy Top girls.  Love them!  Here is their July 4th table decor target=”_blank” which includes sparklers, patriotic gum balls, and lots of glitter.

The Over the Tipsy Top girls have done it again with their fabulous 4th of July glitterlicious stars.  What a fun activity to make for the 4th of July.

Susie Harris created a tutorial on how to paint your own flag from a piece of pine as home decor.  She was inspired by the Pottery Barn flag version.

Amber created a tutorial on how to make an Uncle Sam Windsock.

Katie submitted her patriotic decorations; red, white, and blue decorations she made for her home last 4th of July but many perfect for any patriotic celebration.

July 4th DIY Decor

Anjeanette submitted her patriotic fabric swag tutorial.  What’s so funny about this is that I found it on my own via Delicious and bookmarked it for this post.

How fun would this hand and foot print flag be to make with your kiddos.  Materials needed:  red and blue paint, one chubby foot, one delicate hand, white butcher paper, and a frame.

4th of July Park

Jo-Ann submitted her post on how to throw a July 4th Bike Parade at the park.  Have the children gather to decorate their bikes, have a picnic lunch and ride their bikes in procession as neighbors and friends watch the parade.

MyCreative-Cafe created these red, white, and blue party favors which are perfect for a 4th of July party.

An Altered State of Mind created these darling firecrackers made from Life Savers candy. She removed the existing cover and re-wrapped them with digital papers that she printed. Wrap ribbon around them prior to wrapping the paper.  These would make perfect party favors or you could use them as table decor.

Now that you have all the mixin’s for a fab party, the question is ‘what to wear’?  I found this red, white, and navy polka dot outfit on Baby Bintz.  You can get out your sewing machine and ruffler or purchase it from I Mbornagain.  {{darling}}

Some women have great imaginations! I especially love the flag with the childrens footprints. How people come up with such unique ideas is beyond me, but I love them. Great piece – hope everyone has a fun and safe July 4th holiday!
