organize Your Personal Assistant – May

Since it’s the beginning of the month, Tip Junkie is here as Your Personal Assistant. Take a day and really plan and organize your schedule. Here are some of the things I do:

1. Check birthdays for the month, buy cards & presents, get them ready to mail or deliver. If you have a child’s birthday this month, plan it and get out the invites.

Here’s Tip Junkie’s 13 Day Birthday Bash with all kinds of amazing birthday ideas.

2. Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 10th. Be sure to order your gifts from Tip Junkie Mom-preneurs and support other blogging women! Today is the last day to order & still get it shipped in time!!

Need some gift inspiration, here are some great ideas:

* Tip Junkie Mother’s Day Gift Guide
* Tribute to Mother’s
* Mother’s Day Activities
* Handmade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
* Get your promo code for 15% off at 1-800-Flowers

3. Only one more month of school left. {{eek!}} There’s so much to do:

* Graduation Party Ideas and Teach Me – Graduation
* Last Day of School Traditions
* Teacher Appreciation Ideas and here
* End of the school party for friends

I’ll be featuring more Last Day of school traditions next week, so submit your posts. Also, if you’re a room mom, submit your school party ideas so we can all host great parties!

4. Clear schedule for book club, girls night out, BUNCO, and other rotating activities. Make sure you have child care, your food assignment, etc. Here’s how to start a dinner club.

5. If you are doing a food storage, time to check the schedule and buy next on the list. Don’t forget to put some cash in there as well.

6. Change AC house filter.

7. Write one grandparent a letter, artwork, or card.

8. Mommy/Son or Daddy/Daughter dates

9. Plan a date night with your loved one, arrange the babysitter in advance.

10. Time to sign the kiddos up for vacation bible school! Don’t wait the good ones fill up quickly.

11. Plan Summer: Camping trips, Trips to the lake, and Weekends at grandma’s. We coordinate most of these outings with friends, so we also get friends vacation schedule to make the most of our summer.

12. Sign up for swim team.

13. Sign kids up for summer camps.

14. Finalize Thanksgiving plans. Do something different this year.

We already had to put down our deposit for our place for Thanksgiving. We rented a HUGE house and are bunking in with 3 other families at Brandon this year. This way we can put the kids to bed and hang out and play games with the other adults at night. {{squeal in delight}}

15. Time to Host a Blog Party! Plan a day to get to meet some of your favorite bloggers. (Let me know if you’re attending a Blog Party – I’ll announce it for you!)

Events coming up:

1. This month I’ll be featuring summer activities for the kids.

2. Father’s Day gifts and traditions.

3. End of school year traditions.

4. Tip Junkie Swap – Yep! I’m going to host my first swap. Details to come.

    I love you as my personal assistant. I so needed a few reminders to organize my life–blogging is taking over and pushing everything out! Thanks! :)

    Ahh. Thanks Cher! Me too. I’ve been saying for 2 years that I need a personal assistant to make me sit down and keep things organized and get monthly things done. This is mainly for me. Teehee I’m so glad it’s helping someone else out. We all need someone to have our back. ;)

    I love your assistant ideas. I would include sports signups. we have to sign up for baseball now. also, if kids need swimsuits now is a good time to get them, sizes will be hard to find later. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could get reminders via text message? Thanks Laurie!!!

    Laurie, love the may reminders. I find that I have a tough time keeping up with housework and have had to resort to a list on paper of what to do each day to keep up with it all. (I hate spending all saturday cleaning). Someone needs to send text reminders to us sidetracked moms who get stuck in blogland!!! Today I need one that says “make ahead any items for sunday dinner and make sure sunday clothes are washed and ready to wear!!”. Thanks for all you do for us moms.
