Plastic Step Stool with Child Footprints
Added by: Annisa Olsson Jones
I don't know why I kept that blah, soft green, plastic Safety 1st step stool around for so long. It was useful, but so uninspiring. Prompted by the cute crafts my son was bringing home from preschool, I spray painted the stool with a paint/primer combo. When it was dry, I painted the bottom of my son's feet with craft paint (it's what I had on hand). I then helped him make a footprint on the stool. (He was sitting and I brought the stool up to his foot.) When the footprint dried, I sprayed it with several coats of a clear sealant to protect the footprint. It has held up wonderfully well. I can't decide what's better, the fact that my son LOVES to see his footprints on the stool or that his friends think someone is going to get in trouble for stepping in paint! Plus, I now have his 4-year-old footprint preserved for many years to come!
