Election day is Tuesday, the 6th of November and coming up quickly.  Here are a few creative ways to teach your kids about the election day and ways to make it more memorable in your home.

When is the Election Day Date?  It will be the 57th quadrennial presidential election in which presidential electors, who will officially elect the president and the vice president of the United States on December 17, 2012, will be chosen.

1.  Patriotic Popcorn Treat {Activities for Kids} ~This is a perfect treat for any patriotic holiday! All ages will love to eat this yummy snack, and if you need an activity for your kids to help out with, let them pour in the sprinkles and other fun add in’s!  Enjoy! ElectionDay Activities 2.  DIY Flag T-shirt ~ Make an adorable flag t-shirt from your child's hand.  Simply paint their fingers in alternating red and white and their palm in blue with acrylic paints.  Add some glitter for stars to make them shine.

4.  Printable Patriotic Pinwheels ~ These free printable pinwheels are a great decoration for your patriotic party and a fun activity to keep the little ones occupied.

5.  Red, White, & Blue Bunting & Mini Flags ~ These cute red, white & blue printable pennants were created to celebrate the 4th of July, but they will work perfectly for Election Day, Labor Day and Memorial Day too.  Easy to print and cut out, a cute way to dress up your party without too much effort.

6.  Patriotic Bingo ~ Enjoy a fun game of patriotic bingo with the kids during Election Day. Election Day Activities 7.  Hand and Footprint Flag ~ White paper, red and blue paint, and your kids are all you need for this activity.  Let them each create a flag using their hands and feet and then use the resulting work of art to decorate for Election Day or any of the patriotic summer holiday.

8.  Election Day {printables} ~ Throw an Election Day party with these Democratic and Republican party free printables.  The free printables include water bottle labels, name tags, address labels, I voted stickers, volunteer and more.

9.  Voting Booth ~ Discuss with your child the importance of voting and why they should.  You can create individual voting booths by attaching two folders together and covering them in paper.

10.  Election Day Ballot Box ~ A fantastic book to teach your children about the voting process is Duck for President.  After you read the book you can make a ballot box by covering any type of box such as a child's  shoe box with construction paper.  Next, have them vote for their favorite way to eat corn.
