It is getting cold outside here in Texas.  {{brrr}}  Which makes fun indoor play ideas an essential tool for mom's with preschoolers.  Therefore, today I've found 7 playdough recipes to make for kids!  Yep, hopefully this will brighten your cold winter day and promote some fun mommy-kiddo bonding time at the table.

Playdough Recipe for Kids

playdough recipes 1.  Friendly Fondant Figures - A step-by-step of how to make all five figures above (bear, puppy, pig, bee and giraffe).  It’s a legitimate reason to make cute, crazy and whacky figurines – which can be used to decorate cakes or cupcakes, and are entirely edible!

Homemade Playdough Recipe

playdough recipe 2.  Mini-eco playdough recipe - Making our own playdough colors with flower petals, tumeric and my eleven year old's idea- gerkins. 3.  Peppermint Candy Cane Playdough - We scented playdough with peppermint extract and tried to make it red and white with a few drops of food coloring, probably could have used more red coloring but the girls were happy with it. It smells fantastic and the salt will preserve it and keep the kiddos from eating it. 4.  Peanut Butter Playdough Recipe:  Mix all the ingredients together - if it seems a little too dry at first, you can stick it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the peanut butter a bit. Once you start kneading it and playing with it it will soften up to the perfect consistency. 5.  Gluten Free Playdough Recipe - A recipe on how to make homemade playdough that's gluten free for your kiddo with heightened allergies. 6.  Gingerbread Playdough Recipe - Make your regular playdough recipe and then add LOTS of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, whatever!
