Laundry Room: 8 Ideas To Conceal An Ironing Board

Are you ready to organize a laundry room!  Last week Mandy asked me on Facebook if I could find any ideas for concealing an ironing board.  I thought that would make an amazing post. So here are 8 ideas to conceal an ironing board inside a laundry room or craft room.  I hope they give you some fun inspiration.

Laundry Room

A pull-out ironing board

1.  A pull-out ironing board saves valuable floor space – Pull it out when you need it, slide it back into the drawer when you’re done. This Kraftmaid version comes as an optional kit with the cabinetry. Rockler and Rev-a-Shelf offer a fold-away board that can be retrofitted into an existing drawer.

Drawer that folds out into an ironing board

2.  Drawer that folds out into an ironing board – Talk about your most efficient use of space in a laundry room.   There’s a pair of stacked Samsung front loaders, a large counter space to fold clothes, plenty of cabinet space, and a valet rod for clothes hangers within immediate reach of the dryer.

Built-in ironing board in kitchen
3.  Built-in ironing board in kitchen - Bungalow kitchens often had things like built-in ironing boards. This one is put in using IKEA’s ironing board fixture. Here it is folded up to put away. You just slide it into the drawer.

Table Mini Ironing Board

4.  Table Mini Board - I just love this cutting table  that’s 1/2 cutting mat and 1/2 ironing board.  I’m not quite sure how she made it but it’s colorful and functional.

5.  Ironing Board Wall Unit – Setting the ironing board into the wall saves space and gives a custom-built look.

Cottage Style Wall Unit

6.  Cottage Style Wall Unit – Keep all those hardworking bath essentials hidden yet handy in this cottage-style wall unit. Use display space for colorful and attractive items and stow away the more homely basics.

7.  Wall Mount Ironing Board Cabinet – This Wall Mount Ironing Board Cabinet is a space-saving joy in the laundry room, craft room, any room.

8.  The Material Girls blog had a pimp my laundry room contest and featured several darling laundry rooms.  Sadly, she didn’t link to any of the original sites to see more – but they’re really fun with a lot of inspiration.

How To Organize A Room:

I hope that gives you a few ideas on what you can do to hide your ironing board. {wink}  If you have a darling room over on your blog, we’d love to see it! Feel free to leave the blog link in the comments or on the Tip Junkie Facebook page. Or if you’re looking for a specific theme, let me know! I’ll be happy to find it for you. {{I’ve got your back!}}

    This made me smile, as my parents kitchen back in the 70′s had a pull out drawer ironing board, and I hadn’t seen one since!

    My current laundy room / utility room is a narrow corridor between the kitchen and back door, and no room for an ironing board at all :(
