By slicing your food into smaller pieces, you fool your brain into thinking you have more on the plate, which in turn slows down your food intake.
Japanese researchers from the National Food Research Institute have even scientifically proven that piles of sliced meats and vegetables looked larger when compared to food kept in whole pieces. Visual cues affect satiety so if you make your portions look larger with more “pieces”, you will feel full with less food.
