Holiday Card Tutorial

As an artist, I appreciate any chance I get to be creative. The holidays in December give me that opportunity. I love the holiday colors, old fashion cars and Santa, so I worked them all into this cheerful card.

Holiday Card Tutorial
Just a Tip!
Difficulty: Moderate
Budget: Reasonable
Estimated Time: 1-2 hours

You Will Need...

  • Christmas tree stamp from Stampabilities #OR1059
  • Hero Arts stamp H5267 Santa.
  • Art Deco Cricut Cartridge
  • Tombow Water Color Markers
  • Metallic Gelly Roll pens
  • Foam dimensionals
  • Glue
  • Glitter

Instructions

Step 1: Using 2 colors (I used a green and a light blue) of card stock cut and paste a landscape background to a 5” x 6.5” card base. Stamp tree on watercolor paper using jet black, Stazon Solvent Ink. Use Tombow Watercolor Markers to color green areas, followed by red on the ribbons and bows. I use a waterbrush to drag color on the ribbons. Color ornaments in assorted colors. Use Metalic Gelly Roll pens for the star and some embellishments of ornaments. Cut out tree leaving a white edge around the tree and gifts.

Step 2: Glue tree to background left. Using holiday colors of card stock and Art Deco Cricut Cartridge page 31 cut car 2 at 3”. Glue car layers together and place foam dimensionals on the back and adhere to card.

Step 3: Print and color Santa on watercolor paper. Cut out Santa leaving a white edge. Add red glitter to hat and stockings. Place foam dimensionals on the back and adhere to the card.
