DIY Star Wars Themed Halloween Family Costumes

How to make a DIY Star Wars Themed Halloween costumes for the family! I’ve been piecing together stuff from thrift stores and around the house to create adorable Star Wars costumes for the kids this year… we’re talking SUPER cheap! I got everything I needed for about $6. I only bought a couple things and found everything else I needed around the house. Here’s how you can do it too!

DIY Star Wars Themed Halloween Family Costumes
Just a Tip!
Difficulty: Very Easy
Budget: Cheap
Estimated Time: Under 30 minutes

You Will Need...

  • old karate top
  • tan pants
  • strips of felt to create "boots"
  • 2 lightsabers
  • $6 angel costume of Amazon
  • silver belt from a thrift sore
  • sock buns for hair
  • Old monkey costume from last year
  • Brown robe
  • hair braid extension

Instructions

# 1

Luke Skywalker: An old karate top, tan pants, shoes and strips of felt to create "boots" a light saber, a belt and that's about it!

# 2

Princess Leia: A $6 angel costume of Amazon, a silver belt from a thrift sore (adult size, so i added a hole and cut off the end), and of course, sock buns in her hair!

# 3

A Little Ewok: An old monkey costume from last year (you could really use anything cuddly, a bear, a lion, etc). I cut a piece of felt to cover the monkey face, but let the ears come through and cut a hole for her face to see. Totally works!

# 4

Daddy is planing on going as Anakin (brown robe, light saber and hair braid extension)

# 5

Mommy (me) will go as Queen Amidala (not totally sure what look to go with yet) but for any Star Wars nerds out there, you'll see where we're going with this: we've created a complete family unit! Haha :)

    Updated Tutorial

    Hey Sarah,

I hope it’s ok, but I updated your tutorial a bit so that I could feature it on Facebook. I added each costume as a different step so that people could easily see all the wonderful work out did in an easier-to-read format.

    Great job, Girl! I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share this with us. {hugs}
