This is a useful and heart warming gift for a teacher that costs less than $3. It is also extremely easy! It consists of a mug, chocolate, coffee, flower seeds, a handmade ornament, and a sweet note from your child.
Heart Warming Teacher Gift for $3
You Will Need...
- inexpensive holiday mug, poster board, paint or markers, small piece of ribbon, piece of holiday chocolate, sample of holiday coffee, 1 piece of white paper, 1 piece of construction paper, packet of flower seeds
Instructions
Make a star ornament: cut out 2 medium-sized star shapes from poster board (I use a cookie cutter to get the shape), and have your child decorate each with paint or markers.
Cut a slit in each star and slide them into each other so that it's 3-D. Then cut a hole in the top and string the ribbon through and tie it so that it creates an ornament.
Type a message that says the following and print it on white paper: "I wanted to get you a mug because you fill me with knowledge, seeds because you help me grow, chocolate because you're always sweet, coffee because you're full of energy, and a star because you brighten my day. Merry Christmas! 2012"
Cut out the message from the paper (from Step 2 above) - I like to use scrapbooking scissors for a design. Then cut out a slightly larger piece of the construction paper of the same shape. Glue the message on the white paper to the piece of construction paper.
Fill the mug with the chocolate, coffee, seeds, star ornament, and message, and you're ready to give it to a special teacher!
