April Fools Day Pranks

I love to have some fun and pull April Fools Day pranks.  To help us get in the mood, I thought I’d spotlight a couple fun pranks to play.

April Fools Day Pranks

The Bedtime Switcheroo – Where you move your kids after they’ve fallen asleep on March 31st to another bed in the house. They’ll wake up on April Fools Day with the joke already on them!

Got Milk? – If your milk comes in a cardboard container, add a few drops of food coloring. It’s harmless April Fool’s joke but the results are pretty colorful.

Money or Bust! – Find a scrap of cloth. Place a dollar on the floor and stay nearby. When the victim comes by and bends down to pick up the dollar, rip the cloth loudly. Most people will reach back to see if they ripped their pants.

Meatloaf Cupcakes - Make these beautiful cupcakes but using a meatloaf recipe!

I need more ideas! What pranks are you doing to celebrate the holiday?

Thanks! I stopped by to print the knock knock jokes for my boys and I’ve been wondering what to do for my kids tomorrow. I think I might try the bed switch and milk :)

I love the bed switcheroo idea, but unfortunately with 2 18 month olds, they may lose their minds waking up in the wrong bed … sounds like a prank I should save for next year.

I did find a great recipe in the April Parents magazine where you cut pound cake to look like toast, melt marshmallows to look like cooked egg white and spoon yellow dyed frosting over on top like yolk – viola eggs & toast :) . I’ll be playing that little prank on the kids tomorrow, although I’m sure they are going to absolutely love it.

Last year my daughter super-glued a quarter to the driveway by the steps to our kitchen door. It is almost a year later and the quarter is still there. Everyone who comes to the house tries to pick up the quarter. It’s quite amusing to watch!

Someone at my office last year photocopied a paperclip and made several copies then put those copies in the paper tray. So many people fell for it…(including me!) and were looking everywhere for the paperclip! One supervisor almost tore the machine apart looking for the “phantom” paperclip!! Great joke!
