VELCRO® picture hangers

The problem with decorating walls with a lot of empty frames are ALL THE HOLES you hammer into your walls.  Not to mention if you put the nail in the wrong place, you’ve got a few extra holes that you have to cover up when you’re done. {d’oh!}

So what’s the solution?  {drum roll}  VELCRO® removable picture hangers!  I know what you’re thinking… what?!?  I swear it’s the coolest thing and so easy to use.  You’re going to love them!

Why Use VELCRO® Picture Hangers?

  • Hang securely (up to 3 lbs.)
  • No holes ~ no damage to walls.
  • Easily Adjustable ~ unlike nails.
  • Remove cleanly without reside!

So here’s my quick tutorial on how I not only covered up my exposed nails, but how I hung my empty picture frames using VELCRO® picture hangers.

Velcro Picture Hangers Tutorial

Step 1: Apply the smaller Velcro piece onto the frame with the arrows pointing up.

Step 2: Press the Wall Mount Velcro piece onto the smaller Velcro piece, sticky side out.  {so it can attach to the wall}.

Step 3: Firmly press the frame onto the wall.  How easy is that!

Velcro Picture Hanging Tips:

  • To remove the frame from the wall, slide it up and out away from the wall.  This way your Velcro picture hanger piece stays put.
  • To Remove the Velcro Picture Hanger from the wall with out leaving a residue,  slide the piece straight up to remove from wall. Don’t pull OUT.

    How does this work on plaster walls? I’ve had some issues with other things that are supposed to stick to the wall, but getting nails through 95 year old plaster is a bit of a mess.

    Thanks for the tip. The Command hooks/strips are my usual go to but Velcro sounds like a great option too!

    Where do you find all those frames? Did you paint them? Or did you find them already that color

      frames are everywhere- you just have to keep your eyes peeled for them. I found a bunch at a garage sale and some nice big ones at Good Will. The most expensive one was $12
