DIY Home Decor Ideas

Happy Mother’s Day everyone!

I hope you’re enjoying your special day whether you’re a mom yet or not. Shannon, who is always conscious of others, featured a post by Molly Piper for those of you who are hurting today. I hope that is not the case, but if it is you are not alone. {{hugs to you}}

Since home decorating is my favorite topic and I love tutorials and how-to’s, that’s the topic for today’s posts. I hope you’ll be inspired to make a specific place more beautiful this week.

WOW! Take a look at the transformation of Jennifer’s kitchen cabinet. Using wallpaper she completely changed the look. Dude, I need her to come over to my home and stage my shelves. {{beautiful}}

Check out Becky’s back splash solution. She put up an inexpensive back splash in her kitchen using Home Depot’s Faux Tin Back splash. It’s been her most popular posting. Super easy and looks great:)

Holy Crap! Take a look at Lindsay’s tassels. I was expecting those small ones that you see at the craft store. This tutorial, however, is how to make your own boutique style tassels. {{these are fabulous}}

You know I love magnet boards. Yes, I’m one of those who get giddy when it comes to the simple delights and functions a beautifully decorated magnet board can bring. Here’s Amy’s DIY tutorial on how to make this shabby chic magnet board w/ coordinating star.

You can also cover a cork board with fabric like Tiffany.

Emily transformed drab to fab-chic furniture; she made old night stands and dressers into a chic custom furniture pieces and hooked you up with the tutorial.

Flax & Spindle submitted her quick tutorial on how to make a coat hook rack.

Here is Anne’s tutorial on how to paint a personalized name board; an acoustic ceiling tile- painted as artwork/name board.

Crystal submitted her framed art with family name & anniversary for only $5.78.

Terry submitted her tutorial on how to Tear Wall Paper for Faux finish; an easy way to make a room look new.

Tiffany submitted her tip on restoring the beauty of wood with natural ingredients. Wow, the results make me a believer.

Thanks Ladies! If you don’t already have an “I was Featured” button, feel free to copy the code and wear it proudly on your blog. These are amazing!
