Open a new browser window and go to Google.

Search for the name of the shop plus the words "coupon code". So for example if shopping at Best Buy you would search for "Best Buy Coupon Code".

Find a website which is hosting an valid coupon code and then copy it down or click to activate it.

Go back to the online store and paste or type the code into the small box in your shopping cart.

Click on the redeem or apply button and see if the discount works.
