Use Lip Balm As Your Initial Coat

Before you apply lipstick, be sure to prime your lips by applying an initial coat of lip balm. This will help to smooth your lips, and can also reduce the appearances of any natural crevices in your lips. It will also help your lipstick to go on more smoothly.

Create Lips That Pop With Lip Liner

Be sure to choose a hue of lip liner that blends well with your natural lip color rather than choosing a color that matches your lipstick. Do not use black!

Begin by placing small dots around the outside edge of your lips, and then use the lip liner to connect the dots. Be careful not to overdo it, a light coating is sufficient.

Apply Two Light Coats Of Lipstick

You are now ready to apply your lip color. Begin at the middle of your upper lip, and trace downward toward one corner and then return to the center and trace to the other corner.

Next, move to your lower lip and repeat the same process. You can use a lip brush to smooth out the lipstick and fill in any spots that are not evenly coated. If you do not have a lip brush, use your pinky finger instead.

Do Not Forget To Blot Your Lips!

This is an essential step if you wish to have lasting lip color that you will not have to reapply over and over throughout your day.

Use a piece of facial tissue to blot your lips. Fold it one or two times, and then slowly press your lips together around the facial tissue and then remove the tissue. Repeat this process once or twice.
