Guess what!?! HGTV has asked me to host a LIVE chat and viewing party on Facebook during the House Hunters International TV show on Thursday, February 16th. {{squealing with delight}} So, mark your calendars and RSVP to join me for an hour of house-hunting fun!
House Hunters is an old favorite of mine. Each episode of House Hunters focuses on a different individual or family as they search for and decide on a home that is right for them. The show focuses on “the emotional experience of finding and purchasing a new home“. Three homes are showcased and I love trying to guess which house the home buyers will pick. It’s always so much fun at the end of the show to see how the buyers make their new house a home, too.
As you may know, I recently moved to Ohio {from Texas} and I know all too well the stress associated with finding a new home. It can be so emotionally taxing trying to find the perfect house to raise the family. There are so many factors that come into play….neighborhood, home layout, yard, schools, proximity to necessities, etc.
I looked at beautiful homes, ugly homes, dirty homes, immaculate homes, and homes with crazy/weird floor plans. I viewed homes with amazing yards, and yards that left a lot to be desired. I toured homes that would have been perfect if only they had a, b and c. In the end I made the decision to move into the home that was best suited to my family, and let me tell you, the choice was emotional.
Just like an episode of House Hunters. {smile}
I wonder how it would be different to go house hunting in the place that we had chosen out of all other places in the world to live rather than the place our jobs take us?
If you could live anywhere in the world,
where would it be?
Oh how I dream of owning a home in Lake Como, Italy. If I could chose just one place to live, this is where I’d chose. Located just north of Milan, there’s a reason is the most popular lake for vacationing in Italy. It’s GORGEOUS. Not only is the lake deep and beautiful, the area has artistic and cultural gems that I’d love to explore on a regular basis. Plus, I wouldn’t mind owning a lake front villa or palace. {snicker} I’d even learn Italian. {smiling}
Be sure to tell me where you’d live if you could live anywhere in the world. Who knows? Maybe you’ll introduce me to a new place that I’ll have to research. {wink}

House Hunters International Junkie :-)
I would love to live in Italy for a couple of years.
The Tuscan region preferably. Culture, food, history, fantastic architecture. Yes please!
Where would it be?
I am going to be positive and say…I am going to retire in Tuscany!!!!
mama mia and io parlo italiano!!!!!
Congratulations Laurie!
House Hunters!!
I would live in Cody, Wyoming! We went there before going to Yellowstone National Park and it was beautiful. I love Texas don’t get me wrong, but to be able to open my windows and see the mountains in my view would make my day and to have snow up to my ears would rock my world!!
HH destination home
I don’t have one place, just anywhere near the ocean where there is no frigid winter.
If I could live anywhere in the world…hmm that’s hard because I have never been out of the U.S.
I would like to visit Italy, France, and Spain. I think to live maybe…New Zealand or just a beach house off the coast of NC would beperfect too.
House Hunters Par-tay!
Oh, House Hunters…..we love that show in our house. My hubby and I love to compete and see who is right on the house chosen. My kids even like it!
That’s a hard thing to find…a show for all 5 of us.
If I could live anywhere in the world…..
I would love to head to Ireland. Live in a little village, visit a pub everyday for kicks, you know the norm.
But Italy is my bucket list must-go! Anywhere, Italy…that’s for me. A beautiful valley in Italy is even my wallpaper on my Nook that I look at every day.
House Hunters
Oh my there are so many places I would love to live— on the Mosel river in Germany, Paris, Austria…..
I love House Hunters TV Show! It is one of my favorites. I love seeing all the homes in different locations!
What a fun idea to have a viewing party! Laurie I can always count on you to show me the coolest things!
LOVE HOUSE HUNTERS!
I love House Hunters, and I cannot wait for the new episodes! If I could live anywhere in the world, it would have to be warm and tropical. And, how fabulous is an iPad giveaway. I’m totally planning on be there!

House Hunters
We love House Hunters too. It’s like the fun part of moving without actually have to move.
Hard to say what I would choose – I’m not well-traveled enough to make an informed decision. If I’m just being super dreamy, I’d say Provence, France. But my house HAS to come with a lavender field.

House Hunters
Watching House Hunters is a weekend ritual at my home on the weekend mornings! My husband and I don’t really watch television during the week. So, this is our opportunity to do so. We always take up wagers to see what house will be chosen. It seems that the ideal house is almost never chosen.
If I could choose a dream location to live it would definitely have to be Tuscany!
House Hunter fan in Israel
My favorite house hunter moment was when I was in labor with my son. At the hospital, I asked to turn on the tv to two episodes of house hunters to pass the time a little faster.
3 years ago, we house hunted our way to Israel and we’ve been here ever since. (Actually, we’re house hunting again for a new home!)
HOUSE HUNTER
WOW, House Hunter show is great for viewing and learning real estate. I would love to live in London the old world charm is a thing of beauty. And hearing how how they speak is like music to my ears. I hope I win the giveaway.
Good luck to all,
Inez
House Hunters
I wouldn’t turn down a house in Carmel, CA!
Or on the beach in Spain, or an apartment in Vienna, jeepers, I’ve got to get back on an airplane!
We moved from Los Angeles to New Zealand two years ago. This country sure is beautiful, but I really cannot wait to find the right opportunity so we can move our family back to the US. I will forever appreciate my creature comforts like Trader Joe’s, Costco, and Target. And I’ll never ever take my family {or their geographical closeness!} for granted again.
Can’t wait for House Hunters! Thanks for a great giveaway.
I would stay in the US but would love a home on the ocean on the east coast!
I love House Hunters, I’m pretty content living where I am, on a farm with lots of room!!
If it were in the U.S. it would be Lake Lure, NC. Out of the U.S. it would have to be France!
House Hunters
The island of Kefelonia, Greece!
If I could live anywhere I would stay where I live Illinois I know is not a fancy place but it has everything I Love
I love to live somewhere on the west coast(us)
nickieisis3 at gmail dot com
I’m happy living here in northeat PA. Would love a vaction home in St Croix though!
I would live St. Lucia!
ANYWHERE in the world? I guess I’d choose Hawaii
I’d have to say I’d live in Texas. So many different places you can live in Texas. Besides this is where all my family is.
Maybe Switzerland?
We’d want to live somewhere it would be easy to travel to other countries.
Perhaps Italy?
The Amalfi coast looks so lovely…but then, so does Tuscany…and then there’s your fav, Lake Como…hmmmm – I’m half Italian, and would love to really learn the language and immerse my family in the culture – most anyplace in Italy sounds like heaven to me <3
Asheville, NC
I would live in Asheville, NC! Beautiful mountains and the ocean not too far away!
If I could live anywhere it wouldn’t be a certain city or state. It would be a piece of property with no close neighbors with a few horses. Missing the country life!
Love House Hunters!!!! If I could live anywhere I would stay right here on the East Coast…I would move closer to the ocean, say…right on the beach. But I would love to visit all the places on my wish list, Itlay, France, Greece….
House
I have not traveled too much to know of a dream location. But having lived in New Jersey for 15 years…I would love somewhere warm all year round.
Well If I could live anywhere I wanted, it would be Catalina Island, Ca…I went there on my honeymoon with the love of my life, it was the most beautiful place, other than Hawaii ( I would love to live there too but too far from our grandbabies)..it looks a lot like pictures of Italy…Como Lake Italy to be exact
beside my husband and 2 wonderful children.
Living anywhere ....
I would love to have a home in the Key West!
Love your site and love your FB!
