2010 Word of the Year – Giveaway

by admin on January 4, 2010

I first discovered the Word of the Year in 2007 by Michelle, Kristi, and Lisa and was immediately inspired by the idea originated by Alli Edwards:

“A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow.”

So for today’s Talk To Me Tuesday I’d like to challenge you to pick a word that sums up what you want for yourself in 2010?

To encourage everyone to pick their word, I’m giving away prizes!!  Three lucky winners will have their Word of the Year customized to one of these fabulous necklaces.

This is my first time posting. I love your website. I think my word for the year will be together. Such as get it together, be together with family, and together we have it all. There will be a lot of surgery and sickness for the first part of our year but together we can get through.

My word is GENTLE.

I want to show GENTLE in the way I interact with everyone around me. Gentle to the words my God is trying to tell me, gentle to my husband, children, family and friends.

I love your site — I get so many great tips and ideas. I feel more “together” when I am browsing your site… combining my ideas with your tips and ideas. It’s like an energy boost for Super Mommies! I love the word, “together” — but I also really like “Woo” —- It can mean to “woo” someone you love, it can be what sales and marketing folks usually have to increase buy-in.. woo!!! Or it can mean a celebration — WOO!! or it’s longer version… WOO HOO!!!

First of all – I love your site!! Thank you!

My word for this year is “today”. I have been off work with medical issues since the end of October. Some part of what made my health issue worse was stress, which usually makes most illnesses worse So, since I have been hospitalized, seeing medical professionals and having tests, I have had an opportunity to focus on doing my best for “today” and not worry about the future or beating myself up about the past. Tomorrow will come no matter what, and I can worry about what comes up when it happens.

Happy New Year!

My word of 2009 is “Blessings”.
My mom passed away this year of gastric cancer, and through it all she kept telling us to look around for the blessings God was giving us through it all.

The word that keeps coming to my mind is FOCUS. All the things that get me off track from the really, truly important things aren’t eternally significant. I want to focus on the BIG ROCKS in my jar. If I could fit 2 words, it would be FAMILY FOCUS, because those are the truly important hearts in my world.

Thanks for hosting this great giveaway. I just found your site and LOVE it!

2009 for our family was about GROWTH and EXPERIENCE and now we have to take that knowledge and overcome some major challenges … so I’ve decided that my word for 2010 could only be FAITH because it is going to take the power of Faith to help me to hold on to my dreams for this new year, and to make the changes that need to happen in 2010 :)
