Handmade Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

by Laurie on April 24, 2009

Hey Ladies! I’m in Boise, ID today as my Great-Grandmother passed away last week at the amazing age of 98. Her funeral is more of a celebration of her life. Considering she’s been wanting to join her loved ones who have long since passed, we are very happy for her. She is now in a lovely place surrounded by all the people she loves.

Today’s post is going to have to be quick as I’m in the hotel room trying to get ready for the viewing. I think it’s appropriate that today’s post is on handmade Mother’s Day gifts. I come from a long line of talented and frugal women. They would have appreciated today’s post.

Holy Cow! Mitzi featured such an impressive Mother’s Day gift! It’s an embellished jewelry box tin with a matching card. There is also beautiful beaded bracelet that corresponds to a poem that you can download! {{Fabulous}}

Crafting Chicks has some crazy fun gift ideas! Check out her skinny chipboard album and block puzzle. {{giddy}}

Cakie’s man hooked her up with the most fabulous Mother’s Day card that her daughter jumped out of. Now that’s love. I would die if my man actually made something for me. ;)

Domestic Charm has listed tons of fun DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas. Head on over and check out all the goodies.

Permission to Unwind created a tutorial on how to make a basket from a canister. What a fun container to put a lovely gift inside.

Tiffanie has shown us how to make Scented Bath Salts. I’m loving these awesome jars!

Kate has hooked you up with a tutorial on how to make this Meyer Lemon Vanilla Bean Marmalade. This would make an amazing gift for the special women in your life. {{yummy!}}

If you love to sew, FaveCrafts Blog has hooked you up with links on how to embellish a tea towel, make an apron, and how to make a felt flower pin cushion.

Is your Mama eco-friendly? Then hook her up with a simple, green, frugal, all natural cleaning supply basket.

Just copy & paste the following code into your blog:

Thanks Ladies! If you don’t already have an “I was Featured” button, feel free to copy the code and wear it proudly on your blog. These are INCREDIBLE!

I don’t know where to ask a question, but I am desperately trying to find cute ideas for over a babies crib. I can’t find anything. Any ideas?

Hi. I’m just here visiting your site, and I have to say, I like it a lot. You have some great stuff to check out. I have a small blog that has been around for about 2 years. It’s not big, I delete posts every now and then. But I invite you to come check out my site. I would love to have you over. :D

I am so flattered to be featured on Tip Junkie. I only wish I was the creative mind behind the idea. I started a blog to keep track of ideas that I had seen. The jewlery box was actually an idea from capture the moment. visit them at: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2009/03/introducing-mother.html Sorry if I was misleading. But man it was sure fun to see my ideas on Tip Junkie as I follow you very regularly!

My condolences on your Grandmother. I am also so thankful to my wonderful Grandmother’s and Mother who have made such an impact on my life. I love that you guys are celebrating her life, and I’m sure she is happy to be with ones who have passed before her!

I’m new here, so I have to say first that I love the blog!

But I also have to say…what kind of crack are we smoking that a basket of CLEANING SUPPLIES is a good idea for a mother’s day gift?! “Here Mom, we love you, go clean the house…”

Not a good plan!

So sorry for your loss but what a wonderfully long life your great grandmother had. I'll thrilled to find this great site (via Twitter!). Don't have a blog but I do have a couple of online shops. One is the Etsy shop shown below & the other is http://www.mwgrantdesigns.com
I sell handmade, green stationery!

That all natural green cleaning supply basket is such a fun and useful gift! It’s so put together looking and yet doesn’t require me to craft anything so it’s good for last minute!
